My wrist!!!

And it is not what you think...knitting is killing it...right, well wrong. As you can see to the right I finally have figured out buttons and have been having fun...then I had trouble with the width, like who wants to scroll all the way down to the bottom to find info out...

Anyways, in knitting news...DH's Irish Hiking Scarf is finito..blocking now, pics tomorrow!!

Off to rest the wrist!

Yummy....more Yarn!

Well I got my last yarn order for this year....sniff...I gotta go on a diet and use this stuff up...soon! So I can get more!

Deciding on a yarn....an obsession

Sometimes I get so absorbed in deciding on what yarn to use for a project...it can consume me...I see the possibilities while I drive, work, ugh!!! Not that I use anything extraordinary...(not yet anyways as most of my "cool" yarn like manos, noro, DBliss, is sitting in my stash, aging like fine wine) Just finding that perfect yarn can drive me crazy. Once a decision is made...I can relax...

So, I've done just that...for now! I've joined a KAL Behind the Times and I think everyone is starting on the Clapotis from Knittytm..

Originally I wanted to use Sock Garden in Pansy. Since I am making a scarf sized one, not the full width and not sure on the length, I could probably adjust to use this. Some people have with good luck. But I really want to use it for socks...so socks it will be.

But, me...I fell in love with this yarn after I saw it up for a swap from my Knittytm Holiday Secret Pal and bestest swap mate SharonP. I thought, definately a scarf...maybe a hat?? Luck was with me as I was online at the same time and saw her post and requested...I wanted it all. So I have 4 skeins of this to make a medium/mini clapotis with.

Anyone else out there get yarn obsessed???? Inquiring minds want to know!

Knitmas gifts--Success

Hi all! Well this was my first felted hat attempt...prefelted--top pic, post--bottom Chic Knits felted bucket hat in Patons Classic Merino in Navy and Leaf Green. Used almost 1 skein in Navy and about 1/3 in Leaf green. It was a pretty easy knit and the recipient loves it.

This is a rolled brim hat for DD out of Red Heart Soft double stranded. It was done in secret, and she was very suprised and hardly takes it off. Sadly she's down with the flu now.

This hat/scarf set done in Marble acrylic yarn as SIL is allergic...
Chic Knits Bucket hat and ribbed scarf, no specific pattern.

This is a ribbed hat I made for FIL out of Lamb Pride Bulky Sandy Heather, which was a dream to knit with. With my ever growing stash of LP, I have finally used some. Sadly, it...well....is a bit too small. So rather than adding more to the top, which I really can't as not enough on the skein. So with my LP Oregano (sniff was supposed to be for something else..) I'll make a longer one and add the leftover from this to make stripes.

All in all it went pretty well for my first knitmas...although the above ribbed hat gave me a few problems and I stayed up way too late to finish it. DH's IHS is coming along, hope to be done this week. I am making a felted bag with 9 stitch I-cord that is killing me...it took me forever to finally "get" it....then I go along about 10 inches (need 30 total) and all of a sudden, it is out of pattern...so I frog...reknit....frog....reknit...STILL NOT WORKING...So I had been calm before then...frogged right down to the start of the handles and it is going ok...

I'm having some trouble learning how to add code, etc. I want to put blog links, KAL's and progress bars...WIP's, etc. No luck tonite, so all you get is pics :-) However I finally figured out how to add some things...

More news later......

Pics and blog fix soon I promise!

Since I am so close to finishing Christmas knitting...still gotta wait...hat is blocking/drying and trying to finish a ribbed hat and Irish Hiking Scarf for DH...(which most likely won't happen, I am about 3/4 way through it.)

I've been getting a lot of blogging helps/hints so keep on looking for more updates and pictures soon I promise.

My Second Post!

Don't worry, I won't be labeling all posts like this. I guess I should also introduce myself. I am Zonda, a mom of DS, and DD, and wife of almost 20 yrs to DH. I am a fabricaholic and a yarnaholic...wait, I guess you can rename it a fiberaholic, hehe! The fabric far outweighs the yarn, but the yarn is rapidly catching up. I frequent the Knittytm Coffeeshop where I learn so much about knitting since I don't have a local LYS. There I learned about...what is a blog, an SP (just finished my first mini SP round), RAK, SEX, SABLE....etc...not to mention some non-knitting info. So sit back and enjoy (I hope) as I learn more about knitting and how to blog. It should get interesting as I slowly learn to add buttons, etc...stay tuned!

Today was a busy day at chez Z. Got our Christmas tree at a great price and it actually is still alive. The needles are so soft and flexible, not dry and brittle. We were kind of worried, being 1 week away from Christmas...but been a very busy time here. Pics tomorrow as it is resting today. Normal chores..shopping, etc were done by only me as DH is recuping from surgery.

On the knitting front, poncho #2 is blocking, to be seamed tonite and hopefully will do a crochet border to stop the curling. Poncho #1 was the first one knitted, however just 2 short seams and it is done...so saving the easiest for last.

Sunday, I plan...that is plan to start 2 hats, work on DH's IHS, make cookie dough, and 2 pairs of pj pants...plus the ton of laundry. I don't think I'll be too busy, do you? Hopefully I will have FO pics also.
