Well I spent part of the day yesterday and this morning, getting to know my serger again. Since the knitting bug bit about 2 yrs ago, it's been used maybe 2 or 3 times since then. I do not use it for my needlecases, impossible to do that. So here's some things you can do with fleece--polar, northern, whatever brand you have!
I tried to use some sock yarn (see the neon green in the background) but my serger was not liking it one bit, almost broke something too. So off went the sock yarn (yes it was fingering weight) I was trying to use the sock yarn as the edging of the cuddlewrap. (see blanket below for idea)

All threaded and ready to go, but it didn't want to!

Change to regular serger thread and here we go!
This is a
Cuddlewrap, when open kind of looks star-shaped. These are great for newborn/infant babies and work perfectly in a car seat. Well, so I am told on good authority, as they didn't have the pattern when mine were little. The pattern price is a bit steep, but you do get 2 sizes and I've made at least 10 or more over the years as gifts, you can't sell them due to copyright, which is fine, I don't need to stock more fabric in the house, hubby will leave LOL!

Ahh, I'm warm now!

The only doll in the house modelling it's use. The top is a hat and the sides wrap around.

3 done and ready to go to their owners. On the right are 3 little blankies. I use whatever leftovers there are and just serge the edges and voila, a tiny car blankie or whatever blankie.
I finished with a blankie for Penguin crazy DD. I finished it when she was sleeping and just put it on her, so she'd see it when she woke up.

Well, done serging for the week, next week, pj pants for DD.
Now to work on needlecases and my knitting, what am I knitting now...stay tuned tomorrow and see!
