Almost FO's!

Yes, so close I can taste the finish line! Both of these projects were started last April and both were put away for different reasons.

Now I am really trying to finish some WIP's up, my goal for this year. I could have 2 taken care of this month if I can finish these Cedar Creek Socks!!

Cedar Creeks
Very close and not eleventy billion gusset stitches this time too!

Ohhh look whose having a bath!!
Taking a bath!
He says he likes it and isn't even shedding any excess dye!! He's blocking now and has grown a bit, which is exactly what I needed him to do (heh...men don't usually listen to me well either ! Maybe he's the exception ;)

And before you think I'm just being all goody-goody...I cast on a new dishcloth..you know for mindless knitting!

Multidirectional-diagonal Dishcloth

I'm pretty excited!!! Off to finish my CC's!

Being Fearless....

or just plain old obstinent, stubborn, crazy, you guess which one!

Well by now you know I just can't have "nothing" go wrong with my knitting projects!

Case in point, um..er...deciding to knit the button band on Mr. Lipstickjeans wider (total 2.5" before bind off) to help with the fit. (sorry in advance for the blinging pics...dammit red!)

006
Well, you see to the right, still on cable and about to be bound off...errr...methinks I should have knit the buttonhole a few rows earlier...sigh..

But you know...I have like 250 stitches for the button band (both sides and neck) and....I would have to frog 9 or so rows to fix.... so not happening if I had anything to say about it!

So I contemplated and asked around a bit....got a few suggestions too.

Then I decided to be fearless.

Sewn buttonhole
I sewed up the buttonhole best I could...

Pre-steek
I was sent this website on crochet steeking (hehe..yes I know it's crochet ;) I finally centered the crochet buttonhole the way I wanted....

Then since I wasn't at a bar, only at knit nite where there was only coffee....I just did it.
Post steeking
I steeked a buttonhole...I was sick to my stomach for a minute...then I said what the hell! I mean no one will see it after I put the button through...It's centered, and I like it well enough...not perfect...

All ready....
The finished product. It finally dawned on me to use the buttonhole stitch to reinforce it.. I carefully removed the mess I was making and did that. It's not the best, but much better than frogging and reknitting. Yarn wasn't the issue...gosh I have 2 full skeins and about 3/4's of another leftover. I even had gauge and used same needle sizes as the pattern.

Yes, that is the circular cable still on there. Yes, I still have 250+ stitches to bind off....then the bath....then we'll see how the buttonhole held up and if I if was being fearless or ......... stay tuned!

YPF-Baba what?

hmmmm
054

Baba Jaga is a witch-like character flying around antagonizing small people. Hmmm...interesting name, and interesting colors.

055
Here you see reds, pinks and what looks like orange, but IRL a deeper, darker color...

056
Mixed with the black, even better.

Hehe..didn't even realize it...more red! Well after this weekend, the reds will be out to lunch for a bit....onward to greens, blacks, browns, etc....

Why Mom, why do I always have to pose for you??? I was lucky today, as she wasn't too pleased with me......ugh...teenage girls....

I like the color variations, and yes, my camera hates reds, both in and outside!!

Trucking along....

Truckin'....etc., etc. brings back some Grateful Dead memories for sure!

Work's been a bit crazy. My room is entirely empty except for cupboards. We are getting new xray equipment installed in the next 6-8 weeks so I've been in the OR and boy do I feel old! I'm used to my joystick to move my C-arm around...not up there... it's manual labor! My legs and feet...gah. I get to spend 1 week in Wisconsin at the end of next month trying to learn how to use it too....cheeeese!! Heck with the yarn, I gotta get some cheeese ;)

So been doing a lot of online training/refresher courses for work as well. Snore....actually the latest one was ok. I learned a lot about asbestos and fire extinquishers that I didn't know!
Toasty
Toasty mitts, great to keep you focused on the computer screen, mindless stockinette :) Hope to be done in the next day or so!

Mr. Lipstickjeans....
Sooooo close....I can almost cry!! Like 9 rows, (2 cable repeats and a few plain rows) then bindoff! All that will be left is the button band and weaving in ends. Gotta rock on it 'cause this (see mid-post) is waiting patiently and she wants to be finished in her month you know! ;)

Hehe...ok, getting a bit orange around here!
What a score
What a score tonite at knit nite! B&N had 50% off and members got an extra 10%! 60% and I stocked up. I love the measuring bowls and have been wanting an oil thingy like that for a while. It wasn't until I got home I realized it matched my Rachael Ray cookware I got about a year ago. I love wooden/bamboo spoons too.

Well, that is about all the news that's fit to print or something like that...

"truckin', ............just keep truckin' along..."

Ok, I've only been to 1 Grateful Dead concert. I got tickets in college for me and and my college roommate. She already had tickets to the same one with her boyfriend. Hehe..what a way to get a certain guy to go out with me, wave a ticket in front of him. We went, and I had no idea what it would be like...interesting for sure...as for the boyfriend...we lasted the rest of the year...then he dumped me, went out with the girl he dated before me and married her...yeah that was my curse, the old boyfriends married the next girl they went out with after me. I swear it happened 3 times...yes it did, you can stop laughing now!...ok, end of random factoid about me ;)

YPF-The Evening Edition

Well hello there! I thought I'd be different and do an evening edition this week.

In my attempts to get out of my sock yarn rut (hehe...you know they say it doesn't count as stash right...) anyhow...

I was very lucky to score these 2 lovely's

091
Chandler Colorway from the Plucky Knitter
Aran Cashmere 100%
100 yds each

The burgundy is so deep, in some places, to me it's almost black.
Plucky Cashmere Aran Weight

So very soft and squooshy....
090
Interesting name huh....wonder if she meant it for Chandler, you know from Friends...hmmm I don't care, I love it! I hope for it to be another cowl and armwarmers...but who knows ;)
