Pansie Pansy

I love the real ones, but sadly haven't planted any this year yet. These imposters socks will have to do for now!

Mods, other thank ML'ing I did add 3 rows of plain knitting before I started the heel flap and left 10 stitches to K-stitch the toes. A nice relaxing pair to knit.

In the first knit up of this yarn, it was supposed to be another pair, but I didn't like the pooling.. However, the yarn is so soft and easy to knit with, and best of all it's DK :)
Partridge heel
Eye of Partridge Heel and see, not too bad in the pooling, hardly any.

I'd love to have Pansy's in these colors too.
Toe Pick!
Toe Pic for you Cristi

I'm also happy as this is another WIP(well they started out as another pair of socks!) from May of 08 finished! (still um...er..a few more to go, but I'm getting there.)
See..they are planted ;)
Wait, see, I'm planting these!!! (hehe, um, not!!)

YP...yeah it's still Friday here!

I didn't forget, just needed better light ;)

Just loving this color!
Nancy Jean
The best part, it's sport weight. Fast socks! Thinking of one of the patterns from
this book! See told you I've been wanting more semi-solids.

Don't you like my new yarn plate? I really got it to put fruit or a centerpiece for the dining room table hubby's desk and my cutting area LOL.

But I think it's better as a yarn plate, don't you?

YPF-The Attempted Kopykat Kolorway Version

Guess this title makes you wonder huh?

Colors!!!
What the heck is she talking about.... (gorgeous colors here btw too! )
Pagewood Farms Alyeska
I confess to drooling severely when Cristi first posted the colorway of her current socks in progress on a prior YPF. I "had" to find the colorway, and was not successful for a long while. Although hers is a bamboo blend, mine has..oooo cashmere...yum!

Then...one day I was and when I got it in my hot lil' hands I loved it but looked at the name....um..that doesn't say Crayon...hmmm, it does look pretty close.

After emailing the company and deciding to return it I put it back in the box and went off to knit nite. Upon my return, it was under the dining room table...my kat, she loves some cashmere! (great taste!) So I emailed back and said I would be keeping it...she knew all along I loved it. Yes, the kat is safe and so is the yarn ;)

If you...

have never done Entrelac and wonder about the mystery on how those tiny squares and triangles occur. Well, the best way to see if you ever want to knit it more than once, may I suggest to you knit one of these!

It was fun! Easy to follow pattern and knit. Each time I did either a triangle or square and it came together, I did a tiny dance ;) I'll be helping to teach this to our Knitting Guild in the near future...er..which could be this Saturday!

Whomever invented this method...style...whatever you call it of knitting is just amazing.

Now yes, I know this is garter stitch and the project I want is knit in stockinette, but is was just the technique I wanted to learn. You know, see how it all happens. The pattern may be a bit different, I don't know, haven't read it yet. Not worried..um..er...yet anyways!

What started this 2 year pondering...wondering...quest....vision...

Back to SAFF 2007....When I (and Shannon too!) saw Oliviaknits Lady Eleanor Stole. Speaking for myself, I was in awe. I had never seen anything in person like that before and it looked lovely and warm and, well heck I loved it and thought, I could never do that.

Onward to SAFF 2008...In person I get to see, fondle, drool, pet, and wish she would forget it in my luggage, Shannon's fabulous Lady E! I was hooked, and it didn't help that Cristi had been working on hers too! (Which I saw recently in person!! Lovely as well!)

So what did I do shortly after returning home from SAFF 2008...er...
Noro Silk Garden
Get my own Noro Silk Garden in 221. I've seen it knit up and just love all the colors.

So...will there be a 2009 sighting of a Lady E at SAFF....who knows, but I'd sure like to!

Stack o' Washcloths

A few weeks ago I met up with Shannon and we visited with Cristi (yeah, bad bloggers, no pictures...oh well ;) Anyhow, she helped us with our crochet skills. She's a very patient teacher! I basically needed a refresher on some stitches, other than some edging on knit items, I've not done any crochet since high school.

Presenting my first crochet FO!
Baby Washcloths
Wonder Dreams and Sweet Green. I coordinated these to go with the towel set I got him too.

Baby Washcloths 2
Berry Blue and Wonder White. Not too bad a job on the crab stitch border either. I'm happy with them. :)

A Stack 'o Washcloths ready to go!
Oh So Soft Baby Washcloths
Oh So Soft Baby Washcloths (Ravelry link) or from Crochetville
Size I (5.5) hook
Bernat Cottontots in
Wonder White, Blue Berry, Sweet Green, and Wonder Dreams.

You'll see many more here in the future as I have 4 ladies currently pregnant and a stash of this yarn all ready to go. It's so soft and not a bad price since I'll at least get 2-3 cloths per skein. I've seen these knit in almost any cotton you can think of, you know they don't have to be for babies! My gauge is getting better each time, but hey, they are washcloths...don't really need to be perfect you know.

My new acquisiton....
ChiaoGoo Bamboo Crochet Hooks
ChiaoGoo Bamboo Crochet hooks are the bomb!! I've only owned a few metal ones, but these are so light and don't tire you out! I got 3 at Charlotte Yarn on our trip but the rest came from here.

Stay tuned, you'll be seeing a few crochet projects here and there.

YPF-Yo' Cupcake

Well frosting anyways ;)

The Plucky Knitter
I've been really into semisolids lately...well not that my WIP's may show it. But I really am liking them more than variegateds.

Maybe the different depths of color...I don't know...

I'm thinking a white cupcake with this colored frosting....yum! (oh darnit, now I want one ;)

What's going on Wednesday

Well it is still Wednesday for a few more hours ;)

A Monkey sock in progress....

v. 3/take 3 of FLS, everything seems to be going great now! I'd so love to be done with the bodice over the weekend!

What have we got here....a strap...
Red strap
a very long one indeed! I knit most of this on or waiting for the planes last week. It's now 5 feet 8". I'm knitting until the end of the 2 skeins and I'm supposed to have 16' total. As of right now I discovered a fatal error....I should have ordered 5 skeins of this red colored yarn (Knitpicks Wool of the Andes in Tomato), I only ordered 2. It is so not enough!! :( I have to admit, when I ordered this yarn (in late 2005) I was a new knitter and since this was a total yarn sub and my first yarn sub oh well. (dammit, a little voice told me I may not have enough...but I truly thought I did, guess I didn't see the part for needing 5 skeins...) It is a discontinued colorway and I'm just going to find enough in Cascade 220 to start over. I'd love to try the Lite Lopi, but that is single ply and this is a 3 ply. Funny how Shannon also posted about hers today. Our goal this year is to finish them and maybe they can meet! On the Ravelry page, we are side by side..neat I think...

Off to order some red yarn...dammit!

Signs o' Spring

Are here whether I want them or not...

005
One of my 10 cent azaleas! It's grown up very well! Still alive even!

A sign of Spring
One of my favorite Gerbera Daisy's. Leave them alone and they keep coming back ;)

004
Yeah, had to show off one more time ;)

I'm home and busy catching up all around! Training went well, gosh my new xray room is so freaking amazing! This is what I do (or should I say I'm the lovely assistant) I feel like I've been working in the dark ages for the last 9 yrs. Ease of use and the 3D stuff we can do is fun, but what we can do to help our patients is the best part :) Still having more training on site until Thursday!

Off to knit and relax!
