Hi! Well I guess I am in a KAL fever. Just joined Knit Chocolate . This KAL started in Nov. but I guess I didn't notice until yesterday. What is more interesting is I got Patons Classic Merino in chocolate for Twist last week, have brown wool for 1 tote and a letter have it bag from SNB Nation....I guess I like all shades of brown...and lots of chocolate :) My first official swatch. First measurement at slightly damp was off by 2 rows and 1 stitch(should be 24 rows/19 stitches) which is exactly what I knit.sooo close, and maybe cigar, cause if it's wool, it could grow a bit, then maybe I can knit the next size down...I mean that close...hmmm can you tell I am a gauge newbie!!!
On the wrist front. I think it was not only my doubled yarn...thanks Lolly but my Denises. Once I switched back to bamboo, it is going just fine!!
On the sewing front...working on some totes and needle rolls and below is what DD made for her Girl Scout Sewing badge. She has 2 more pairs cut out, and hopefully will get them done this weekend (they've only been cut out since before the holidays. She's not sure if she really likes to sew...Most of it was done using the serger, which she loved putting the pedal to the floor...yikes what do I have to look forward to in 4 years.
Just completed a swap and I have to tell you I love the Berroco cotton twist.
Those are so my colors...well other than chocolate brown and red, blue, green....;) I guess I have many colors! Right now I am looking for a couple more skeins of the same color or contrasting color to make maybe a tank of some sort for the summer. Also included was 2 yds each of these fabrics...yes I swapped yarn for fabric. Especially the red/pink swirls...it is so discontinued around here, I have the red and now the red/pink...now if I found the green swirls I would be in heaven :) The other fabric will probably become a tote or part of a quilt.
EDITED TO ADD: I found some on Common Threads I got enough to make the Chickami or Soliel... :) I know the dye lots won't match, so there'll be a little camoflague to be done but I am SOOO Happy! Oh and some Brown sheep bulky got in my basket too...how??? ;)
Well I am off to bed! Later :)

ooh the fabric is uber cute. I really like the colors of that cotton twist too!
And twist is going to look really nice in that chocolate brown! I LOVE it. Gauge is a pain in the butt, I usually just wing it. Luckily twist is a cardi that can be a little so you'll have some to block. I didn't really notice the patons growing that much when I blocked it, just a little but it did take forever to dry!
I hate my Denises. The pattern I'm working on is a tight knit with Noro and size 6 needles and my hands were killing me after a few hours. I had to switch to a Susan Bates circular and so far so good.
