knitting, and knitting, and knitting!!

Yo! Turtlegirl!! I'm knitting as fast as I can!!! ;)

I think I am in need of some fast decreasing however!! I think it will be alright, looks a bit baggy in the armpit area, however, that still needs seaming and ribbing. I may frog back about 3-4 rows and start some decreases...not sure! I don't want it too tight, but if it does bloom..eeeek!
Any ideas, or do you need to see a better picture! I am knitting the XL, and according to the pattern would still need about 3 more inches before decreases are started. I didn't want to knit the L, but..um..maybe I should have for some negative ease??? I want to finish this already. The idea of reknitting in a smaller size.....well I am bored of it as it is....what to do????

thoughts...suggestions...anything.... :) Posted by Picasa

There is one suggestion only from me - finish it fast, so I could admire Green Gable! Great knitting!

No don't frog. Go ahead and start your decreases now if you think you need to. In my washing experience, no bloomage occured. If anything, it may have, erm, shrunk a bit (but blocking helps!). So I really, really think you'll be ok. Don't despair! You're at the point where you can keep trying it on and get it really "fitted" to you. Just decrease as you need.

I vote for starting your decreases now. I think it should be ok. I wouldn't frog it, it doesn't sound like you'd want to start it all over again.

Ok. So I have to chime in since I TOLD YOU SO. YOU NEED NEGATIVE EASE IN THIS TOP. Granted its too late to rip back and then knit the smaller size but I would start decreasing asap and then maybe a quick trip through the washer and dryer would tighten it up a bit. It will be fine! ;) But you need to listen to me about these things! :)

I didn't experience any blooming with mine really, but it didn't turn out form fitting like the pattern pic (which was just fine by me). I would keep going, with early decreases if necessary. You're making great progress!
