Wednesday WIP

Hi! So here I sit, knitting away on what you see below and importing some CD's into my eyetunes! I had to start a new account and even though I had my precious backup disk...sadly, it can't be used for my ipod anymore. You see, we didn't realize when we updated DD's computer, that was it. Only allowed on 1 computer...sigh..oh well, not like I had more than 50 songs I paid for...I can still play the CD though, so not a total loss. (I knew I should have made a new account for her from the get go....warning to multiple ipod users on 1 computer!) Ok enough, I'm sure you're all sick of this stuff...But..consider this a PSA hehe!

I am loving this Monkey sock!!! I have finally "gotten" in the grove with the repeat pattern. I musta been overly tired last week, it would take me forever and a day to do a repeat. I'm hoping to be done with this bugger by tomorrow and starting sock 2. It is cast on already and in the project bag awaiting it's turn with my lovely fingers! Ohhh lucky sock! ;)

Monkey Sock

I tried it on and OMG! It fits...so well! I think I've found my needle size for Sportweight (yay! my favorite weight sock yarn-I still use fingering, just a happy preference.)...US 2 or according to my Brittany dpn's 2.75 mm! Either that or it is a fake out due to the pattern. So, seeing that I am on the foot portion I thought I could use ML to go faster! Well..my only free US 2 circ is really a 3.0...I know this happens a lot, but I am liking the fabric the stockinette stitches is making so I trudge on with dpn's.

See what happens when you are a smartypants (or you think you are!) and "learn" too many ways to knit a sock.... (and you have more than 1 sock OTN --bad girl!) you have to suck it up and drive on, cause I am sure not removing any needles....

Sock 2 coming this weekend......if it doesn't get too nice out and I have a sudden wild hair to actually go outside and weed a flower bed or two and possible try to plant something that might actually live in this hot as he!! so sunny place! :( I know I shouldn't complain, but The weather here is 70-80 one day and 40-50 or so the next. I know some of you in the "snow/colder" areas would love to throw a snowball at me, sorry, but sigh...I am a New Englander...it's in my blood and getting hot weather in March just kills me! I will return home one day, crazy as people think I am for "wanting" to go to a colder climate to retire. I just want 4 seasons.....4 separate seasons...not hot/cold/hot/cold/hot. I want my wood stove...I want to ski again....

001
See, my poor Bradford Pear tree...didn't even get to see full bloom (see something I planted all by myself..it still lives!) It's confused too!

I stole this from Trillian who got it via Ali. What Goddess are you? Hehe...mine is pretty interesting and I've heard tell a certain friend is the same!

You Are Psyche!

Eternally in search of purpose and insight.
You're curious and creative with a total sense of wonder.
Totally empathetic, you pick up on other's moods easily.
Just be sure to pamper yourself as well!

Lovely work on Monkey! I'm enjoying the pattern more 2nd time around - the 1st pair took forever as I got fed up - have no idea why.
What great sock stretchers - so much nicer than the plastic ones I've seen - not seen wood ones in the UK anywhere....yet.

In SE England we used to get well defined cold winters (which I love) now it's mainly less warm than summer and our last summer was too hot! So I empathise with you.

Great Monkey socks!!! I have had the pattern and yarn waiting to go - as soon as I finish my current pairs, I'm casting on!!! (I have to force myself to finish my current pairs, otherwise they'd never get done!!)

The monkeys look great :)
I hear you on the weather. Though here in New England it's been crazy. Last week it went from 65F to 20F in 24 hours. Yesterday it was mid 40s. Today it's mid 50s. Supposed to be mid 50s-60s all weekend. I'm still waiting for the April snow.

Oh yummy, your Monkey sock looks so awesome! Gosh, I'll just have to try this pattern too, it's ever so beautiful!
I *so* hear you on the 4-seasons-thing! I've had times in my life when I'd have moved to a Caribbean island in an instant - but thinking of the neverending heat and always the same weather bores me sick these days. Every season has its own beauty, and it's so awesome being able to experiencing them all! Fingers crossed that you'll be able to experience this again one day too!
