Heh! So you thought I was going to show you...well, not today! Suffice it to say, knitting has taken a back seat this weekend. I had a commission to create something with my other fiber addiction, and you'll have to be patient! :)
Since the sewing bug bit me really bad this weekend, I figured, what's one more night. I got this idea from Trek!
My swift is different, it's a table top and I've been all over town looking for a mailing tube to put this in! Well the legs make it a bit difficult to find the perfect size.
So I thought I was cool and put 2 buttonholes to insert the cording...well my sewing machine does them quite well, and I was proud...that was until I tried to thread the red cording! I had made the buttonhole through both thicknesses of fabric. It should have only been 1 layer. Oh well! So much for a quick project!
A save was made and about 10 minutes later and a tiny opening made in another location.
Swift bag.....done! (hehe I love it when Gordon Ramsey say's that!)
Nosy, little feline sniffing it out!

What a cool bag for your swift!
Love that fabric!!! Super cute!!
I love that fabric - I bought the same fabric to recover a vintage knitting tote. We must be twins separated at birth or great minds think alike! Sue
Very cool idea!!! And I love those colors too.
Heeheee, so the sewing bug bit you again. Glad it did because you got yourself a cool looking swift bag. Your always so great with fabric choices!
That's a helluvalot better than a mailing tube! I love the fabric!
I love the swift bag!
Your swift bag is one million times cuter than the one that came with my table top swift!!
That's a great swift bag! Such fun colors!
Great looking fabric. I watch Gordon sometimes too.
Now are you really looking for a picture of you with the snake nails and short red hair? that will make a lively post!
Great idea! Love the bag colors!
Where did you get such a neat-o swift? I need one and don't like the umbrella type!
so did you just make up the pattern? did you find it somewhere? It's awesome and I've got the sewing bug too right now and I'd like to steal the idea! :)
So cute and a very ingenious idea!! I love the fabric.
What a great bag, it's an excellent swift cover, and pretty, too.
