Ok, lots of you have heard by now about the Ravelympics. Some of you may be sick of hearing about it already, sorry, you're about to see 2 weeks worth of FO's. The idea is to try knitting something in 17 days that challenges you. Well most of you know all the stuff going on in my house, so hey, finishing anything lately can be a challenge in itself.
So with lots of car knitting coming up during the 2nd week, I figured some easy projects and some using of the *cough* sock yarn stash, doubled...yeah all the yarns will be doubled. Just finished a mess'o'knots from winding the yarn doubled too...
My goal is 4 hats and 4 cowls...we'll see how I do.
My first 2 projects are for the Cowl Jump and Hat Dash
Chickadee Cowl (on the right sidebar under free patterns) using
STR Watermelon Tourmaline, medium weight.
Koolhaas Hat using STR Heavyweight in the Rare Gems colorway.
Here it looks like Mochaberry, hmmm. Both courtesy of my personal BMFA shopper ;)
Um..could you tell what team I'm on?? Blue Moon! I think they both go together well. Although I see more browns on the bottom cake than I do IRL hmmmm...stay tuned!
This is perfect timing for me, really, gives me something else to concentrate on other than the fact in 8 days...yes, 8 days we leave to take my college man to Maine... **must concentrate on the lobster...yeah the lobster**

Go Team Blue Moon!!!!
And I think/thought that the pretty heavyweight was a Rare Gem, and in that case, its its own pretty color! Either way, you are going to have some gorgeous FOs to show!!
Lobster and the cool weather!!!
Chunky walked by and expressed his like of the unknown color.
I think it looks a bit like 'Mist', but I could be wrong - my leftovers of that colour don't have browns in them.
But if it's a Rare Gem, then......
It's very pretty anyway :0)
Good luck to you! I know you can do it!
I am casting on my Sweater Sprint Project in a few minutes...
This is exciting! Can't wait to see your progress. :) Love love LOVE the mystery color.
Go Team Blue Moon!
I love Tina's Rare Gems. Nothing like our Depraved Dyer playing around with the new & familiar.
Cheering you on from the sidelines!
OMG those colors would be great in a chevron scarf!!!!!
Those will go great together! Cheering on the country of Zonda!
I like the rare gems colourway. Very pretty!
Yummy Blue Moon! Definitely the perfect yarns to keep your spirits up on your trip I think the Watermelon will be perfect for that cowl.
(feels an urgent need to wander over to bluemoonfiberarts).
I have Watermelon Tourmaline waiting to become something yummy.
I'm on Team Second Life. We have 6 members hahaha
Good choices for your challenge. The yarns are beautiful; I can't wait to see the FO's!
Go team Blue Moon! Great projects you have planned!
wow!!! Love the rare gems. Very very pretty. Be sure you being it on Wed. so that I can drool all over it!!!
Your Watermelon Tourmaline is so pretty. Looking forward to seeing your knits.
I like the Cowl & Hat. Both are on my want to make list! Can't wait to see how they turn out! I couldn't commit to the Rav Olympics this year, due to Mack's arrival and the hecticness in my house! Maybe for the Vancouver Olympics in 2010.
