Crushed Velvet!!! Gorgeous greens, reds, pinks, blacks...
Crushed 'cause as as I enter the phase of one leaving the nest. You all are
Velvet as in the song "Black Velvet and that little boy smile!" Which was his favorite song when he was a baby. He'd get fussy and I'd dance around holding him and sing with the radio to that song. He'd calm down and smile at me and all was well! It'll always be our little song.
Oh gosh, no wonder he never joined chorus after hearing me sing! Poor guy!

Good lord that's beautiful!!!!
I like your song/son story. We used to sing that song when we'd drink Black Velvet whiskey in college...hee hee.
That yarn is fabulous! Its such an unusual combo, but it works oh so very well.
What a sweet story. I got a little teary eyed. You are such a sweet momma.
Oh my poor Zonda. You make me wanna cry. You will be just fine after a few. Just remember to wear your yoko ono shades and noone will see that you are tearing up. Have a safe trip and keep me updated..(since you are now the text queen)
Great yarn, and thanks for making me think of 10 years from now ... :(
I know you'll make it through the transition, but good luck!
That is gorgeous yarn! :)
I love that song too!! what a sweet story to share. {{Hugs}} for your 'loss'.
I adore your yarn's colours, beautiful!! :)
Beautiful colors! When my son was little, he loved the song 'Kiss me', ( I don't know who sings it), and every time it came on, I would give him smooches. He's thirteen now, and I just heard the song the other day in the car and smiled at the memory.
That's not moody - it's just plain GORGEOUS!
Have a wonderful trip! You know I'm right there with you.
Gorgeous yarn, and what a sweet story about your baby leaving the nest.
It's beautiful!
That is gorgeous yarn and such a lovely story. We're all here for you! :D
Oh, that's yummy.
Finally sitting down to catch up on your blog. Apparently I'm 32 posts behind :( But I shall catch up!
What a great story. You need to make that up into a cowl so it can hug you when your son can't be there to do it himself. (hugs)
I like the idea of a huggy nostalgia cowl! It goes perfectly with your Black Velvet singalong story!
Those coloures are sooo high!
Those coloures are sooo high!
"black velvet...if you pleeeeeaze"
Now I feel old. That album came out while I was in university. Now your kid is going off to school. Argh....
