It was a lot of fun! Met lots of people, walked a ton, shopped...well see below and just enjoyed myself. Had great roommates too! I even saw 2 knitbloggers I've been reading for a while and could only manage a hi. Guess I got a case of the shy mouth syndrome. Plus I missed a few other peeps...maybe next year!
The arena
I didn't get many of the other sales area or the animals...yeah...new camera strap and all and it stayed in my bag...yeah, bad blogger! Howevah...
Friday Nite Knit in at the Holiday Inn was fun.
Organized by this lovely lady, there were prizes (no I didn't win) and lots of meeting and just chilling out.
The Friday nite knitting group as we normally meet, it was just another Friday to us.
(L to R) Lisa, Judy (her Mom, aka Momma to us) and Jacque.
Me...well despite the planning for lots of knitting and projects (yeah I always over pack them too) I had plans...or should I say she had plans for me.
I took a spinning class and learned a bit, spun a
Here we are Friday nite and what a difference a fiber makes. I didn't want to throw anything...well not as much as earlier that day. Let it be known that me and the orifice hook became well acquainted ;) (hey, git yer mind outta the gutter now!)
Can you barely see that tiny burgundy strand...coolness!! I learned so much from her, much more than my class. I should have paid her the fee. 2 hrs and a large class makes it hard to learn a lot. Thanks again Shannon... Sorry the rest of you lot, you'll have to wait to see the results...
Sooo...did she??
The haul, not much sock yarn in there either (some are gifts) ! I was on a worsted quest and was very successful!
Sorry, no close ups or info you'll have to wait for a future YPF post. See I gotta keep ya coming back.
Soap, soap, soap, and some buttons. I love handmade soaps...and after spending 2 days looking for red buttons for a certain sweater...I found them at knit picky, where Shannon and I stopped on our way home.
Oh and some of the sights you see huh!
Cristi honey you sure aren't afraid to get yer hood on are you? ;)
If you've been reading this far, thanks!! I appreciate it. And for those inquiring, nosy minds that want to know...did I get a wheel..
NOPE! I resisted the urge...although I was thinking evil thoughts of how I could put rocks and stuff in Shannon's wheel bag so she "thought" she brought it home...wonder if she checked yet ;) I do love the Lendrum, but want to try a few more to make sure it's the "one" for me. But that is a long way away. I just don't have the time to give it the attention it needs right now..
One day....

One of these years, I might get to SAFF! But I also want to go to Rhinebeck. And Black Sheep. And...
So I console myself with internet shopping. Ain't the same at all!
Thanks for the report--it's not as good as being there, but oh well.
Sounds like a great time! i've been messing around with my lendrum and some BFL and finally figured out my problem...the tension was too tight. I loosened it and got much nicer lumpy yarn :)
Wow! You must've had a great time! I'm so entirely jealous! Let me know how the wheel quest goes - I'm going test diving on 11/15. :D
Wow. I thought just maybe you'd come home with one....sounds like you are close though!! Maybe you should add it to your Christmas list!
Looks like you had a fantastic time!! And did pretty good in the yarn department! Not too much, not too little!! Can't wait to hear details!
Wish I could have joined you on Friday night. It looks like you had fun! And hey, I liked that thing until y'all started laughing at me! It is NOT a foreskin!
Ha ha, I bought my wheel sight unseen and I loved it immediately...I'm just saying...;-)
Sounds like you had a great time. I found Shannon's blog yesterday and what a great blog it is. Try out lots of wheels before you buy. I bought mine before I tried any others and now I'm thinking of selling one of them to get a different one.
sounds like a ton of fun! thanks for sharing!
That purpley yarn towards the bottom looks heavenly... I cant wait to hear more about it. :)
looks like a great time had by all! :D
Glad you had fun! :)
Glad you had fun! I've never been to a fiber festival but I so want to!
Oh what a good time! I wish I could have been there (to talk you into wheel...)hehe
My goodness, you are a true spinner now - how exciting!!! In fact, the whole trip looks great (and I'm glad I'm not the only one who lugs the camera around and then hardly takes any pictures). The teasers you gave of the yarns look pretty. Love the buttons - hurray for finally finding them. And ya know what - I think it's really smart not to have bought a wheel while caught up in the excitement of the weekend. Better to wait and do some thorough research. :)
That was fun -- I'm so glad I got a chance to meet up with y'all and actually get to chat this time! Thanks for putting up with me!
That looks like a great time and brought back some great buys! Especially the soaps!
I was so shocked when I heard you say my name! I didn't think anyone actually read my blog (aside from my baby sister). It was really nice seeing you again. Sorry I got all shy and quiet - I'm such a dork that way!
How fun! And it looks like you made off just fine, even without the wheel!
Wow - looks lilke fun!! No wheel?
Maybe next year!!
Wow! That looks like so much fun! I must get myself to one of these gatherings.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that purple yarn!!!
Looks like lots of fun!
I'm guessing you'll get that wheel sooner than you think; I used to say "not now" and I'm on my second wheel!
Terrific pictures! You look like a natural behind that wheel (enable, enable) ;)
That rich purple yarn is GORGEOUS (and I'm not a usualy purply fan)!
