WIP Wednesday

The Tomatillo...
Tomatillo
She grows! 3 rows from joining in the round and I so look forward to no more purling!!! Could I finish by the end of the month...um..I'm sure hoping to!

Normally, I don't mind purling, but when you've got 2 projects with purling rows, one of which has 324 stitches to be exact, yeah, you know my pain...

I love this picture...you get a little pr0n and wip!

Denim...what could it be...
Denim...
You'll see soon...

No onto my dilemma. Peeps I need your help!
February Lady Sweater
The FLS (February Lady Sweater) is right now at the top of my hip bone (aka top of the crest for you fellow xray techs out there ;) I'm mid repeat and still thinking of another lace repeat, then the garter border. I am very short waisted too.

The yarn is Socks that Rock Heavyweight and I know it'll block and loosen and lengthen, but this is the part that always gets me. How long do I knit it? I don't like cropped tops/sweaters. Well that's a lie, I do like them, but they don't like me. :(

I most likely will still knit the repeat, then do the border...and try it on again with jeans and see. Gah...decisions, decisions....

I love the projects. I think you are on target with the FLS. Knit the extra repeat and try it on wiht your jeans. You have some great projects going on.

My FLS grew 3 inches in length when I blocked it. I like my sweaters longer so that was not a problem. Your idea sounds good.

My STR FLS didn't grow much at all, but I steam blocked it instead of wet blocking.

Sounds like you're on the right track with the FLS. I think I've read that the garter stretches anywhere from an inch and a half to three inches? Carrie (Irishgirlieknits) would know for sure, she made her fab FLS in the same yarn.

block it now and you will see how much extra length you get. (measure before and after too, that way youcan calcutlate it for hte rest of your sweater)

I was going to say knit the repeat, but then I read Carol's comment. That's definitely the way to go!

I knit mine a wee bit shorter than I wanted it, but I also knew I was only going to steam it.

I say knit the repeat, steam block it, and see what you think.

Every FL I've seen with the garter has stretched a lot. Mine did too--but in the lace part (I did stockinette instead of garter). I say one more repeat and then go for the end.

Or...move on to the sleeves, finish the sleeves and then see how it looks w/the sleeves finished and then let that guide you whether you want to add another repeat or so and then finish the bottom.

Do the repeat, try it on and decide. That blue yarn is to die for! Which is the true color- the dark or the light?

Wow...hope that you can come up with a decision that does not require any FROGGING. Bleck.
It is lovely...and the denim...what is that...a cuff, a sock, a a a.

Your projects are looking great!

I would also knit the repeat and then try it on again!

I don't know, I'm so bad at judging these things. That's why I hardly knit anything for myself!

I love your projects! As to the FLS, I think I'd add a bit more length. I have the opposite problem, my torso is freakishly long, so I tend to knit things to emphasize my waist where it should be. For the opposite issue, I'd suggest knitting the lace pattern a bit longer, then adding the ribbing. Maybe it'll grow a bit length-wise, but I'd say add another inch or two.
