Phew! Just in the nick of time as usual for me! ;) My January entry for the Socktopia KAL! Also counts for SAM 2!
Widdershins (the plain version) pattern from Knitty, Toe up with heel flap.
Lorna's Laces Sportweight in Denim. I must say, 1 skein would have been enough. I have enough leftover for another pair. I almost made these knee highs..but nah, too hot down here for much knee high usage, plus I would not have finished them in time...knee highs...well 1 pair coming in the future anyway, just cause I wanna! ;)
Started around January 20th
Finished January 31
US 3's for sock body, US 2's for cuff ribbing
EZ Sewn cast off
Once I finished with the toes, I moved them on the 2 circulars and away I went. Had a few times I used the wrong needle, thus the need for dpn's to help correct. The heel flap was done in reverse, very interesting!! I got lots more practice with wraps and turns! I tried them on numerous times and had to decrease the stitches around the ankle 2 times. I didn't want a repeat of the Anastasia socks (they'll be revisited at a later date!)
See! Don't they look great on my skinny ankles!! Wished other parts were skinny like these baby's!
I like the 2 circ/2 sock method a lot! These sure went a bit faster. Howevah, when doing patterns, lace, etc...might make me a bit nervous if there is R and L patterning...but still may try! :)
Oh and a shout out to pal Trillian42 for helping me understand 2 socks on 2 circular needles better! Also to Cristi for helping me with some math issues!! Thanks ladies! :)
PS. Many have asked about the broom vac. So far so good! It'll be good for those small jobs. You sweep, then varoom all the sweepage stuff up or just turn it on and sweep, then empty! It just beats bringing out the animal ;)

Nice socks! I have that exact same yarn. :)
Ok, so the socks are stunning, but the Animal comment made me snicker - we've got one, and the thing either never gets taken out (and the dog hair accumulates until we sweep) or it gets lugged down from the attic, used, and then left at the bottom of the stairs for weeks since neither of us want to bring it upstairs. Thank god the thing works so well - otherwise I think I would have kicked its ass long ago. :) I'll have to try your broom vac solution, but how many vacs does a woman need? Yeesh. :)
Really, though, the socks are fantastic. They look like they fit perfectly.
SImple is the best - great socks!
Love your new socks. It's always great to learn new techniques every so often too. They look like they fit you perfectly too!!
The socks look great! I'm two inches short of finishing mine. So I didn't meat the deadline - but I'm almost there.
Congrats on the two at a time! I hope to give that a try again.
I'm glad you got them done in time, they look great!
YAY,You never stop finding ways to challange yourself. Beautiful!
Lorna Laces is one of my most favorite yarns. I love the fingering weight which I happen to be wearing today:)
Looks great! I love simple stockinette socks.
That is a gorgeous color! I love the socks.
I bought a similar vac when Chunky was learning to eat at the table...what a little pig!
Love the socks. Boy you did those fast!!!
Pretty socks! And both at the same time - nice!
Yummy, they're so pretty! Lovely colourway too!
Beautiful! Do you think that knitting sock with 2 circs helps in diminishing the laddering effect? I seem to have a bit of it and I am looking for options/cures for the problem.
Beautiful Socks!
Great job on the socks!
Your socks look like they fit perfectly! And so very neat!
I love your socks!! I love the 2 sock method - use it all the time!
