Meet my new Dude.......
You can't see it as well, but I know that there are more reds in this as you can see Here!
They will be my Winter Holiday socks this year! I'll be starting them in November. Not sure of a pattern, it's a mediumweight. So we'll see what it transpires into.
Off to knit my cardi!! I want to finish the fronts this weekend, I'm only 1/2 way there...sigh..
BTW...I have questions! I'd love to knit the sleeves in the round. Do I need to decrease 2 stitches that would be for the seams? Also, I'm thinking I can do this until the sleeve caps, am I right?? All help will be so appreciated! This is my first real sweater...yep...it is!

Hmm, I'm first and I don't have an answer for you but I'd say you are right.
Of course, I'm knitting my sleeves the flat way. :( They seem to take forever!!!
I wish I had a good sweater answer for you, but I suck at trying to figure sleeves out.
Ohhhh....that gingerbread dude....looks good enough to eat!
My dude is on order - hopefully showing up soon! It looks great in person...I'll be doing holiday socks for mine too. :)
Lovely yarn - it'll make great holiday socks.
As for your sweater question, I'm the last person in the world who can/should be giving sweater advice. But I do know there is a way to pick stitches up around the sleeve caps and knit them in the round from the shoulders down. I first discovered this from a link off of Brooklyn Tweed's blog. If I can find it, I'll post it for you.
Sigh. I love your new dude.
If you're knitting in the round, you would definitely decrease by 2 stitches where the seams would be.
Dude, love the new Dude!!!! Yep - you are right one - that is exactly what I'd do - decrease for the seams.
Yes for both the sweater questions- and you can also go the other way by picking up stitches like knit masala said. I haven't done it that way, but I hate both picking upo stitches and setting in sleeves so I might try it sometime.
Great pron pics! Those will make for really fun holiday socks! And see you have the answer to your sleeve question. :)
Gingerbread goodness!! That colorway is wonderful, such rich colors!
Sounds like you're off and running for your EDC. And everyone is right about the sleeves. I try to knit them in the round when I can, cause knitting them flat is a real pain. Good luck!
Those will be great socks for the holidays. I was cofused why you were calling them your dude for a second, I mean we all like yarn, but that seems to be carrying it a bit far. Then I read the name :-)
yum! gingerbread!
Lovely Gingie!!!! Have you a set pattern in mind for the socks? :)
Lovely yarn. That will make great holiday socks!
I didn't realize this was your first real sweater.
What great colorway!
I love the Dude!
Yes, I'd decrease two stitches just like a regular knitting a sleeve flat.
He was one of the one holiday colors I resisted! But now...hmmm...He is so yummy!!! Of course, as I was in the hospital this week I thought, well guess its a sign that I didn't place that STR order for the soon to be bye-bye colors...but now that they are still up....gingerbread dude may be coming my way!
DUDE!
That yarn is awesome!
Oooh, love Gingerbread Dude! I'd love me some of that. Holiday socks with Gingerbread yarn. Mmmmm!!
