Hi!

Yeah, so I'm a few hours shy of Wednesday on the East Coast..oh well...I have a good excuse!! Um..worked late, ripped out shoulder of EDCardi 3 times...I just didn't like it, but now..it's done..well the shoulders are and it's going to have to be ok.. Darn it, I meant not to bind off so I could do a 3-needle bind off..well better luck next time!

shoulders seamed
Side seams tomorrow. Hey all you experienced sweater knitters out there! Can I do the button band and neck before I put the sleeves on? I mean they are no where near the neck edge, besides it would be less to heft around.

Next up are my Socktoberfest socks in the Socktoberfest Colorway I got last year from Scout's Swag . I also ordered a small skein of black to use for contrast parts of my socks...stay tuned to see just how high they go! ;)
Socktoberfest socks

Well, that's it...I gotta an FO, gotta wait until Friday for pics! Secret knitting going on too! hmmm wonder what it could be???

I don't see any reason why you can't do the button band before you put in the sleeves. I would. Shoulder seams look good. I used Nancie Wiseman's book to help me through that this week. I mean I did CRAP the first time, yours look spectaluar.

oh god. SAFF is almost here. must knit through stash faster!

I'm not a sweater girl (yet) so I have no good hints - but that sock - it is amazing. I love the contrasting toe!

Wow, lots going on with you these days!! Love the sweater . . . I wish I had advice about the button-band, but I'm not experienced with sweater knitting at all. I'm sure someone will have the answer for you though. That Socktoberfest sock is very pretty - great idea for black heels and toes. And a FO and a secret project? Ooooohhh.

I don't see why you couldn't do the neck now....

Love the new socks - the black is PERFECT!

It's looking great! Doesn't it feel good to be on the home stretch and running right toward the Tilted Duster?

Love those socks.

I used to do neck and buttonbands before sleeves! Just do it!

Right on time with those socks. The color is perfect for this time of year and I like the way you are using the black.

You are going to finish that sweater in plenty of time!

Yes-you can do the button bands without the sleeves--less to flop around!

You did a great job seaming the shoulders! I'm only on my third sweater now, but I don't see why you couldn't do the button band before seaming in the sleeves.

Can't wait to hear what you think about Scout's Swag. She on my list of lusty yarns!

There's no reason why you'd have to do the sleeves first. Go ahead and do the button band and neck now if you want. =)

I think you can do the button band & collar first... I mean, that's what they call a vest. Your shoulders look good... my EDC is still in pieces.

Lovely socktoberfest socks! I have a skein of that colorway too...

The shoulder seams do look really good. I really love the color of the green. And yes, you can do a button band before you put on sleeves. Sometimes it's easier but sometimes you have to try to on to make sure the button band is right and it's easier with sleeves on.

BTW...I miss you! And I have some quilt questions for ya! :)

Good Luck with those seams....you don't hand sew them??
WOW!@ Glad to see your machine back.. I'm sure you missed it dearly! love the socks! Coming along looking kewl!

What a good idea that was to buy the black to go with your Soctoberfest sock yarn.

The shoulders look great and there is absolutely no reason why you can't do the neck and button band first. I often do them before the sleeves for the very reason you mention.
