To finish a pair of socks?
I think it is, and can't really tell you why....other than they did start out as 2 socks on 2 circs. That tangling of the yarn and the fact I didn't rewind the pouf of yarn either added to the madness. Then it got too hot around here, and well...they sat and patiently waited their turn.
Karen's S-F Socks
Cascade 220 Superwash
US 3, Inox for 2 at a time,
Finished with Addi's as Magic Loop separately.
Mods: I only knit 2 of the 3 cabled pattern repeats. Also did not continue cabling on the foot portion. I felt that as worsted socks, the ribbed and cabled portions would be too much for me.
This was my first time cabling socks without a needle. Man..knitting worsted on US 3's and trying to cable without a needle was a bit of a challenge.
Sigh...1 less WIP now!! Do you know how hard it is to photograph red!!! Geesh, I took about 40 pictures...these are the best I had!
Well, the was the extent of my strength today. Weather changes here from 60-70 degrees down to 50's or lower. Which results in a chest cold for me...sigh..off to cough and knit in peace.

Nice socks. I really like worsted weight socks, they are just perfect for when you want to wrap up and feel all warm and cozy.
they look great - 11 months isn't too long if you love them, right?
have some tea and get better!
11 months is the perfect amount of time. They look great!
No. 12 months is too long. 11 is just fine. They needed to marinate. =) They look great! Love the way they cabled!
They're so nicely done - no matter how long they take!
Cute socks! Nice job getting them done!
The end result is what matters and these are georgeous!! :)
Truly gorgeous sockies - well worth the wait ;-)
Not at all. My first pair of Jaywalkers took me a whole year. :-)
It doesn't matter how long it takes if they're FINISHED! They do look cozy and soft.
Great socks on those nice sock blockers. I need some blockers too.
Hope you feel better soon.
They look fabulous!! And can I just say, I still get a little thrill every time I see "my socks" on a blog. :)
No, 11 months isn't too long at all - they are done and that is what counts!
I love them. the cable detail on the ankle is very nice.
Hurray for finishing them! Better late than never!!!
They're lovely! Looks like the time out was well spent. ;)
Hope you feel better soon!
Beautiful socks!
The longest I've taken to knit a pair was 6 months. Way too long. My gauge had changed between the first and second socks. Now I have a rule that I must finish the second sock within a month of the first and I cannot cast on for another pair until one pair is finished.
Worsted on size 3s? I did worsted socks on size 6s once and they nearly killed my hands (uber tight knitter here). Yours are lovely.
I don't think 11 months is too long. They just weren't ready to be finished unil now. The socks look great!
11 months or not, those are beautiful socks.
I know what you mean. I just finished a long overdue pair myself. What are you talking about, these are great pics! Very cool looking pattern too.
Oooh, you got the chest cold too. I just started taking an expectorant/cough suppressant. I pray we both don't get worse. It has to be the brisk chill in the air.
Ouchie--worsted on size 3's! The socks look great though!
They came out great!! Great job on finishing it!! I like the modifications you made too!
Yay!! they look great!! And yay for you for not giving up and getting them done!
They look wonderful. I'm sure they'll keep you quite warm.
Red is one of my favorite colors. It is so hard to photograph. You did a good job.
Pretty socks! It's a nice bright color for gray January.
Your socks are so pretty - such beautiful cables in that nice red solid yarn!
I have 2 pair of worsted wt. socks and am about to start my 3rd - I LOVE them for wearing around our cold house!
