Ice Cream...Neapolitan to be exact :)
Vesper Sock Yarn a gift from Cristi when we met for the first time..yeah..like over a year ago. I likey marinating the sock yarn stash :) This was my favorite ice cream growing up. They didn't have all the fancy ice creams like they do now. Um..I remember when cookies and cream came out during freshman year at college...yeah, the freshman 15 plus LOL!
Neapolitan Colorway
100% Merino
Started August 07-Finished March 08
Generic 64 stitch Stockinette Stitch socks
US 2 Inox, Magic Loop
Short row heels
Stretchy bind off, which BTW, worked much better this time than the first time. From Weebleknits, using Denise's version from Socknitters (hey just giving credit links). This is the best one I've used.
Ahhhh self-stripey goodness! Need to cast on another SS pair, wonder what color I'll use...seriously? hehe
Heels didn't match, but it's ok with me! Don't wait so long between heels! I was trying to remember how many wrapped stitches. I did ok, and they fit perfectly...so warm and soft. These were my in the car, doc. appointment, etc. socks, but I just wanted a WIP done..YKWIM! I'm proud of myself, as Saturday, I stopped sewing and just worked on sock 2 which I had just finished the SRH. I finally could knit without looking and finished them last nite, and did the bindoff this morning. A miracle for me! Woot!
I've heard a lot of different opinions of Vesper sock yarn. This is from a while back and it isn't superwash, just 100% merino, no nylon either, but I love them. So warm and cuddly on a rainy day like today. Hehe..yeah for the rain, will make weeding this week soooo much easier! :)

They're adorable! I think the slightly mismatched heels just proves that they're handknit. I'm very impressed! I have a few skeins of Vesper and I like it. However, I don't use it for socks - I make cute scarves and hats out of the self striping goodness.
YAY! They're done! They look great! Well done on the matchiness everywhere but the heel. And even that isn't bad at all.
Hurray! They came out great! I can't believe how well they do match! Practicaly Perfect in every way!
mmmm neapolitan. Maybe you should eat some ice cream tonight in celeberation?
They are really cute, and they do match really well!
Hee hee, love your bowl of socks pic!
They're very cute! If Vesper weren't already on deck for my next pair of socks, this would've put them there! ;)
Fabulous matching!! They look machine made ( a compliment to your exactness only) :D
Yay!! They are done!! Phew...just in time for the end of the month too :) I love them!! They came out super cute! And I think I was gifted that same colorway and now I want to make them (along with the gazillion other socks I want to make!).
Yum!Those look good enough to eat!
They look very tasty!
Oh yummy!!! They look perfect!
Yummy!
Oh, I love them!!
I love those. I don't like Neopolitan ice cream (I'm like homer simpson--I eat the chocolate and leave the rest!) but I love those socks!
(My verification word is "vglutna" is that what happens when you knit with too much Vesper sock yarn? You become a vglutna?)
Yummy! Count me in for a bowl. :)
When we were kids, our parents always bought this ice cream and I remember it so fondly.
Yummy indeed!
I was feenin' for some of that ice cream the other day!!
Thanks for the links on the BO (stores away for later)
Neapolitan was the flavor of choice at my house growing up too! Those socks look just as yummy. ;)
ooooh! So pretty!
You have made me hungry for ice cream- and yarn! mmm.

Gorgeous!!! and they look good enough to eat :-)
Great socks! I think I need to go see if there's any ice cream in the freezer. ;o)
Oooh pretty! Dammit! Now I want Pepsi AND ice cream.....
Those are gorgeous! I love Vesper sock yarn and she's using a different base yarn that so soft and wonderful to work with.
Wonderful socks, and I love that ice cream pic! I also remember when cookies and cream first came out. What a dull world before that. :)
Oh, those look so good. Love the way you pictured them, too :-)
Ok. This food+yarn stuff has gone too far. I started knitting to keep from eating and now all I want a daggone bowl of ice cream.
First soup, then a martooni, now dessert. GAH!
