Gah!!!!

Why Gah!!! Well, it's really more like grrr...and WTH....and...dammit and whose stealing my project yarns!

Case #1
Magic 28 socks
Magic 28 socks knit in leftover LLaces Worsted from this hat. I was doing so good...until the 2nd toe. Yes...I had to find matching yarn for the toes! I'll frog back the other one and it'll be done with. Yes, those are dpns...Bryspuns I got with Cristi eons ago at an LYS that was going out of business..darnit, should have gotten more at 50% off!

Case #2
Thorpe in Waiting...
Thorpe hat...what you see on the left is the yarn to knit 4 more rows on the top earflap and bind off both earflaps...well, not happening. Good thing I had some worsted that you see on top I can double and finish the earflap. Normally, this hat is knit on US 9's, well after the increases I knit with 10's on purpose mind you. ;) Thought I'd have enough, but nope. Good thing I did plan on using a contrasting yarn for the ties.

Case #3
Leyburn Sock
My soul sucking Leyburns...well they don't suck anymore...why...

They've been sent back to square 1
STR KAL Leyburn Socks
The toe had too much fabric, that's what I get from using 15 stitches to start with. Would not have fit in a shoe. Plus the leg was too big, I seem to have a problem with toe ups and my tiny ankles......and thirdly...the US 1.5's ..they were killing me! So, stay tuned, I'm going cuff down and on 2.75mm (US 2's..yeah, you know we have like 3 US 2 sizes LOL!)

The number of times people have changed the sizes (US and UK and European) in just the last half century, we may as well just go back to not bothering to give the needle size and just give the desired gauge. Maybe we can use "skinny," "sort of average," and "big honking" needles.

I have a collection of old steel sock needles; you wouldn't believe the number of sizes that all fit into the "size 1" slot.

LOL; 1.5's? I have to use 0's, and even that is loose on some yarns. I'm waiting for knitpicks to come out with metal 00's.

LOL Tamar - I like the idea of "skinny", "sort of average" and "big honking" as needles sizes. :D

And I finished my Leyburns, wore them, and am considering ripping them back and restarting them. I'm afraid the feet on mine are a little too long. *sigh*

Gah is right!! Running out of yarn on two projects..ugh... a reason to increase the stash..hehehe

I hope the next pair of Leyburns are more successful..you were so far along.

Gosh, that is such a shame....not sure if I want to attempt the Leyburns now...

Maybe the underpants gnomes have a yarn-stealing splinter group.

I'm with you on the socks. I refuse to knit anything on less than a size 2 needle anymore. Too small and too tight!

I hear ya. Those teensie needles drive me nuts!!

Oh no, you are having some bad knitting mojo. Okay you projects and yarn, straighten up and fly right!!

While it stinks that you've been running out of yarn, at least you've had something that would work to finish up the projects.

Looks like some booze would be more than wellcame (at least if it happened to me)!

Gah is right!

I've avoided stress in knittng by jsut knitting dishcloths over and over and over and over....

So sad. Two steps forward, one step back. Or maybe three steps back!

What about using a different heel? Maybe that would change the fit on your ankles? Not that it would really change the number of stitches, but maybe the construction would change the fit..

All I know is that they look beautiful and I'll pay you to do short rows for me!

I see you got yourself some of "I Love This Yarn". It's very soft for acyrlic. Cute baby socks.

It's those yarn gnomes! They're evil and they creep into your house and steal your yarn and mess up your knitting while you're not looking.

Gah is right! What a bummer on all those projects.
