This so could be a conversation between my daughter and myself! She's just that sharp and witty!
Random fact....I may have crocheted a bit around the age of 12-14 (made humpty dumpty banks out of kool-aid canisters) but I didn't touch a sewing machine, didn't like it, and I would have had the best teacher in the world....so I guess...

My mom is an excellent sewer, knitter, etc. But I didn't have any interest in learning until I moved away and I had to teach myself!
Annoying, isn't it, how much like our mothers we find ourselves!
To this day, my mother still cannot believe that I am a knitter. Apparently (in her eyes) I don't fit the mold, but then again, I never have ;-)
She's not complaining too much, though - she's got warm feet!

My mom taught me how to k nit when I was about 8. then I never picked it up again. Till the year after she passed on. So, if you are watching mom,"Hi!"
