I've been trying to figure out what to say. It was an amazingly beautiful night. Although a tiny bit humid, we couldn't have asked for better weather.
Our campsite won the award for the best themed.
Knitting while waiting for the start time.
Hubby and I getting ready for the start. Note the cool lamp shade light above my head.
The Survivor lap. I had asked hubby to join me as he's a survivor too. We had no idea there would only be 3 of us. They even made us speak..yikes!
So we walked a lap, then a caregiver lap, then my pal Christine and her sister came and we walked some more laps...bigger laps even. I started off really well.
Mr. Bones hanging around.
See the luminara! Gosh these highlighted the entire track! It was awesome!
They burned until we put them out, about 11 hrs total burn time! Some didn't make it all night though. Each time we walked around, we read all the names...sometimes we had somber, quiet laps, sometimes we were all laughing and talking. It all hit us at different times. We cried, hugged and laughed. Sometimes we held on to help each other around, when it got hard to walk. I ...er...kinda..overdid it and pulled a hip muscle.
My boss juggling a lap.
Oh and at 1 am, the crazy hat lap!
This is the 4 am lap...umbrella lap, we were the only 2
Everyone who was left. We only had 3 teams walk, but with 5 total teams, we raised over $11,000. Not too bad!
As for me, I'm pretty much recovered I think. Compared to what a lot of people go through in their cancer treatment, this was nothing.

Hugs!!
All of you did great job! Way to go, Zonda!
You and hubby look so cool together.
Way to go! I like the themed laps. The idea of lap walk/runs sounds kinda boring at first. I didn't realize they spiced them up!
Well done, Zonda! We're all proud of you.
Well done! And here's to the day when these walks are no longer necessary!
I got a little teary reading about this!! I'm so proud of you for so many reasons. Hope the hip is all better now!
Congrats, that is awesome! We're all so proud of you. :)
And my word verification word is 'brest.' Hee.
Thanks for walking!!
I love the campsite! Great job. It sounds like a really neat event. I had no idea there was so much fun infused into everything.
Very, very cool! I hope your hip is feeling better. :)
Congratulations on the walk. Love your site with Mr. Bones and the skeleton cloth.
I love Halloween stuff ---- or couldn't you tell. LOL
You rock!! Very cool!!
Great job, Zonda, and congrats on having the best-themed site!
Great post, Zonda. Sounds like it was a very successful walk. Seeing your name on the luminary is so powerful!
What a great walk!!!! And only 3 of you walked the survivors lap?? Should I be happy or sad? I too am a cancer survivor, though i don't really consider myself one. I had melanoma back in the 80s when it wasn't that known yet. Thankfully it was still in my skin layers and only had to be cut out. I didn't have to deal with chemo or radiation. Or having a body part removed. Just some extra skin to keep me alive.
Good for you for walking for such a major cause.
Congratulations Mamma!
Nicely done, and I'm glad you had a good time!
