Holiday goings on.....

Well, son and hubby made it home late Friday...should I say early Saturday am. Due to the impending snow storm that some of you experienced this last weekend, hubby thought they should drive straight through, no stopping in PA for the night. 19 hrs from Augusta, ME to Fay., NC...whew...when we were young and no kids it took us longer LOL! Good thing he did, they'd just be getting home today.

So, the college guy is enjoying home cooked food again. When asked what he wanted for dinner, he didn't care, as long as it's not cooked for like hundreds of people he was fine with whatever. Cafeteria food kinda gets to everyone I think :)

So, there has been tree knitting...no I have not been knitting with my tree!!
Trees...
Yay, on the last one for this year, with chunky yarn...should be done soon.

Family of reindeer
Family of deer
Not sure if I've shown you these before. My FIL made them a few years ago out of scrap wood. I think they need some better bows though...

Love this Santa, a friend got it at a craft fair a long time ago.,,
Santa

My newest holiday collection. Added this year was the rat or whatever you call it.
Newest holiday collection
no my mantle is not tilted, apparently I am...

Woot, my first year in a very long while the presents are all wrapped before the 24th.
Done...
I happened to mention it to my MIL that I was done...yeah, should have kept my mouth shut, she promptly gave me 5 more to wrap...now I'm really done. This is our last year with our cool tree stand. It's just barely holding the tree up now. Thus the reason for not a lot of ornaments. Which is ok, I've cut back a bit on the decorating now. Sometimes it's nice for a change, plus easier to clean up after.

Led tree lights
I love our LED lights. Hubby hates the teeny ones and white ones so we've always had those bigger colored ones. Then someone invented these LED ones, which we love. Saving $$ on electricity and they just look way cool. Apparently Belle thinks the lights on the floor are something to sniff and try to eat...

I'm enjoying time with the family as I have an unexpected week off. Nothing bad, just not on call this year, well until the 26th anyways. Off to knit, bake, and spin too!

I love that Santa! Glad to hear your family made it back home safe and sound. The snow storm was huge, to say the least.

Can't wait to see your trees!

You know, LED lights really hurt my eyes for some reason--but the picture of your tree, they weren't so bad. Weird!

I want to see what the finished tree knitting project looks like! And I have to say, if this is scaled back Christmas decorating, I am woefully inadequate ;)

So glad to hear they got back OK. We made the drive from Boston to NC, and it's a long one even if you get around rush hour and there is no snow.

Love your Christmas tree. Beautifully decorated.

I'm glad to hear eveyone is home safely for the holidays.

The tree and the decorations are so festive and fun. I opted for no decorations this year. Just too close to the little one's arrival. He should be here in about two weeks!

Hang on a second there! Those are LED lights that look like the C7 bulbs? Really? REALLY???

Hmmm ... must re-evaluate tree light situation and keep eyes peeled for post-Xmas sales. Hmmm ...

Glad they made it home safely! Nineteen hours straight through, that's quite the driving feat!

LOVELOVELOVE those reindeers! I think you should knit them little sweaters. Or capes, capes would be cool, too (and probably easier!).

Merry Christmas, Zonda! Glad your boy made it safely home.

All cafeteria food must be alike. Stephen said the same thing when he was in college. LOL
