It's a bird, a plane.....

It's a Cascade fixation ankle sock!! Yeah! Sock 1 is finally done! Fits fine, snug, but not tight....at 38 stitches. However, the future pairs will be at 40sts and at least on the next pair I am going to try a few rows of plain stockinette stitch before I start the heel flap.

And lest you think I've got SSS...see the heel progress on sock 2! :) I so can't wait to finish this pair as I have a pink pair in the wings to start!

BTW, I have discovered something I can't do...well..not good anyways. I cannot start something on DPN's...I tried to start Sock 2 on them and well...it was not good. Now I started over and went to 2 circ's and you see the progress. I can do that with magic loop as well. I knit hats, no problem as I start knitting on circulars, so I add the DPN's later, after knitting is established.... things that make you go hmmmmmmm

On a sad note...well to me..I accidently deleted my photoediting program. Can't find the software yet, so I think it was either free or came with the computer..which is why I should have the software.. I really liked it as I could edit as much as I wanted and not show anyone what a lousy photographer I can be LOL! This photo courtesy of Picasa...just uploaded it, clicked on "blog it" and there you have it. We'll see how it works! So what do you guys use for photoediting? I may be purchasing some if I can't find that darned CD...hmmmmm Posted by Picasa

Yay sock! It looks really cute!

And boo for losing the software. What a pain in the butt. :(

Sorry, not much help on the software front, but the sock turned out great. I like the way the colors striped.

The sock looks great! And I wouldn't worry too much about it being tight. I found that my sock stretched more than I expected after wearing it for a while. :)

OMG, I left such a confused comment. Let me try once again:
I can cast on with dpns, but you should hear me how loud and long I can swear!
Thanks for listening!

Wow, I love this sock, so great - and yay for it fitting so well!
As for the photo editing program, perhaps you should do a bit of a web search - there's many excellent programs out there which can be downloaded for free - some are trial versions only, some are free ones, but there's plenty of stuff you could use! "Paintshop Pro"'s got trial versions, Window's got its own "PaintBrush" as a full version for free - and the best one would be "Gimp", an excellent Open-Source program for photo editing, and that's the full version for free as well. Just search for it via Google and you'll find it - and love it!

Your little anklets are beautiful. I like the color! DPNs for socks...only if they are toe up. I have a hard time with casting on the "regular" way for making socks. Hmmm....maybe that is why I make all my socks from the toe up? I bought some circular needles to see if I fair better with those.
As for photo programs...we have Adobe Photoshop.

Oh Yuck...Cascade Fixation is my persoanl Anti-Christ. But if you like them... :P

I use Camedia for photo editing. It's not my favorite program, but the edits in Picasa never save. Grr.

I like knitting Cascade socks on 2 circs and regular socks on 4 DPNS, but I do dislike doing those initial rows....

It's so cool looking the way the stripes turn out on the foot part!
You are not forgetting how to knit socks on two circulars, that's for sure Z.

Cool! I want to try out fixation but I haven't found it yet.

Do you have an HP printer? There should be software bundled with it that you can edit. What type of digital camera do you have? It didn't come with any?

Are you sure you deleted the actual program from the computer? You may have just wiped out the short cut, try digging through c:\program files. And.. um.. keep that finger away from "delete"!

I can't seem to start casting on to a 2nd or 3rd dpn, but if I cast on a few extra on the first one and transfer them over, it works like a charm.
