Hi there! Yes, this weekend is the start of my Sockapalooza 4 socks. As the family is going out of town next week, I should have lots of free time to work on them! (no cooking, and mild cleaning, hardly any laundry, and only the animals...peace man, peace...well I do have to work which is why I can't go!)
My pal has feet a few sizes bigger than me and I pray that I'll be knitting them with at least a size 1 needle. I'm gonna swatch...can you believe it, I'm gonna swatch a sock!! Cripes!
Wollmeise Sockenwolle
Versuchskaninchen Colorway
German for Guinea Pig
Going to be knitting Math Whiz Socks ***ok, pattern ?? when the pattern states the sizes (s-xl) and then tells you fits feet measuring 9-10.5" and your pal's measurements are 10.5 from heel to toe, am I correct that I need the XL?*** please help before I cast on! Thanks!!
Awesome colors and from what I hear, a ton of yarn in there! Phew..I'll need it!
You can order directly from Wollmeise in Germany, from what I hear the shipping isn't too bad however, The Loopy Ewe will be selling it in late July.

Your pictures get me into trouble...I am not sure whether to be grateful, or upset. :)
that is beautiful yarn - how it relates to a Guniea pig, I have no idea!!! I would guess you would want about 1/2" shorter than the measured lenghth of foot so it will fit snugly...so I would probably do a 10" foot (my usual formula)
Love the color! I look forward to hearing what you think of the Wollmeise once you knit with it.
The colors are wonderful aren't they? I need to get some photos of mine.
Gorgeous! I love those colors.
Love the color choice
I would pick the size based on the circumference of their foot...you can always add or subtract repeats to get the length. At least I assume, not having seen the pattern.
That is soooo gorgeous! Love it! But in the future, don't provide details of where to get it...hehehe. No worries, I'm sock shopped out for the week! Go sockapalooza!!
I would guess that since it says "fits" feet measuring 9-10.5" that, yes, you'd do the xl. But what about the circumference? Does it say anything about that?
What a lucky pal you have! The yarn is beautiful and will look great with that pattern.
delicious!
I'm not help on the size, but pretty yarn!
The Germans must have known that you were knitting socks sort of out of your territory and named it that!! ;-)
Yeah, I'm not good on size. I knit for my own feet, and maybe my mom's leprachaun feet.
those are gonna make gorgeous socks. I think the size kinda depends on how wide/narrow your pal's feet are. i'd still do a swatch to be on the safe side though!
I'm the worst on feet sizing--remember my Dad's sock story??
Great colorway tho!
Very prety yarn! Looking forward to seeing it all knitted up.
Ooh that looks gorgeous.
Go for the XL size, I'd say. Unless she has a super narrow foot.
