SIP!

Yes, Socks in progress! Gee, took me like 8 shots to get a good one, had to use my handy, dandy white background. Raining here, much needed rain, but the lighting.

Oh yeah, What do you think?

Sockapalooza
Yeah, I know the toe area looks wonky (heh, no wiseacre comments either :P!) But my pal obviously uses larger blockers ;) (Hiya Pal! :)(she'll be reading this I'm sure after the fact) Now, I guess I won't be using these after their bath.

1st Garter stitch heel flap
My first garter edge heel flap. I'm kinda meh about it. It's hard to p/u gusset stitches though! Any hints on that?

Gotta go! Sock 2 is desperate to be finished!

FYI: The yarn is Wollmeise in the Versuchskaninchen Colorway

I think they look awesome! Really, your gusset is just fine. Is this CTH yarn? It's beautiful.

Looking good! I think that color is soo pretty. I might have to get some on my next order.

I don't have any real tips for picking up the stitches. Next time try knitting the socks toe-up with gusset increases and a heal flap and there are no stitches to pick up.

Speed demon knitter! Very nice and I love the colours. Slip the first and last stich may make picking up easier. Maybe.

I had the same issue with my first garter edge heel on my Sockapalooza pal socks - I don't have any advice, but I did twist the stitches when I picked them up

Love the sock BTW! I love the colours!

That sock is beautiful!! I'm the worst at picking up gusset flaps - garter edge or plain. I'll be coming back here to check for good hints from your readers!!!

Ooohh, maybe we could ask on the SAM4 blog!!

Oh mama, those colors are to die for!
I hate picking up *any* kind of stitches. It's a handy technique, if you don't suck at it like I do!

Your socks are going on their way to you today. As they come from over the ocean I expect them on your address in 10 days from now. Your sock pal

Looks great! I agree that it is harder to pick up stitches in garter, seems like you did a fine job though.

Nice sock, gorgeous yarn! I'm yellous!

I love garter edged flaps. It's easy enough to pick up gusset sts by picking up the strand in between each ridge. I use Grumperina's method - pick up strand in front, knit in back.

Also don't forget to pick up an extra stitch to close up the gap at the top of the gusset - pick up the right loop of the first st and the left loop of the second st of the two sts directly under the gap, knit as one (ssk for one side, k2tog on the other). Make sense?

Pretty colors! I also like the twisty pattern, it's interesting without distracting from the gorgeousness of the yarn.
