About those colors....

Well they became these....

A row of crochet potholders for the 2010 Potholder Swap
A row of crochet
I decided to join about 3 weeks before they were due. Of course I didn't plan for the dental drama to take away some time from finishing...but oh well.. I finished and they are on their way.

Not much crochet here before huh? Other than an afghan, some washcloths, and edging on knitted items, I really haven't done this much double crochet since I was about 15.....

I call this one New Orleans....reminded me of some Mardi Gras fabric I found down there.
I call this one

This one...sigh..reds...multiple pics taken in/out of the house...etc. This is the best one.
grrr reds....
I pulled the colors from the varigated yarns in both of these.
Greens, tans, and varigateds

You have to join 2 of them for the potholder, so I decided to reverse the color order on the 2nd ones I made.
Greens & Tans
I made the hangers by chaining 10 at the end and securing the other end down. I think single crochet around the chain until it was covered. Not half bad..

My favorite one :) Glad I have some leftovers to make my own...
My favorite one :)
some day! 10 11 of these in a few weeks is enough...

See the flip side...
The flip side
The pattern is easy, all you need to know how to do is single, half, and double crochet's. The rest is all explained. Ahhh who knew frogging of crochet was so soothing too ;) and quick!

Here they are all together for the last time...sniff... When they reach their destination, they'll be separated forever! 5 Lucky swappees will then own them. Sure hope they like them.

Sadly the middle one in the bottom row...pictures just stunk so that's all you'll see of that one. If one was smart one would have taken pictures after each one was done, not trying to get them done before one was about to mail them! Gauge wise, not too bad, 3 were the same size, and the other 2 were. All were done with the same size hook even...I'm thinking the Aslan Trends yarn is a little bit heavier weight. It's ok, they are some thick potholders.

Ravelry pattern here
Yarns: Aslan Trends Pima Clasico in Vibrant Orange, Volcano, Fire Red, Dahlia, Blue Atoll, Garden Green & Artisan Gold.
Tahki Cotton Classic in Dark Chocolate, Beige, and Cream.
Tweedy Cotton Classic in Green Variegated (most of these colors are now discontinued. I've had some of them for a while.)

I barely used 1/4 skein on some colors, some I used barely 3/4ths. I have a lot leftover. Guess they'll come in handy next year ;)

Remember I said 11. Yeah, this was #1 out of Peaches/Sugar & cream. I used a size 4.0 hook
Practice Potholder
Um..I have some great colors and wanted to use them...but after just 1 with that yarn there was no way I could do 9 more...so off to the LYS and my stash for a replacement.

It does make a wonderful dishcloth though! Go on make some, either dishcloths or potholders, you know you wanna!

Off to knit and torture my left hand, so it matches my right :P

Fun! I've been looking for a cute potholder for my mom. I'll have to give it a try.

I'm not sure I can take so many swirls first thing in the morning - I find myself looking around and around the swirl...

Very cute - I like the red one best.

Great job and yay for finishing! I "thought" I was going to do this too - but life got in the way and I only finished 2 potholders. They are mine now!
