Just the sleeves please....

Yup! Finally there!
Sleeve Island
When I got here to you know...sleeve island... the realization that that were so big about made me..well let's just say a bit upset. Then after conferring with some friends, I started the decreases immediately to make the sleeve cap/opening/armscye...whatever you call this area, smaller. I surely don't want a bunch of fabric under my arms. So far, so good. We'll see how this goes.

Ribbing..
ribbing...
The buttonband ribbing went pretty well. No buttonholes were planned or made. I like how the colors ended up. I didn't even tweak that. I did run out of yarn from that ball about 6" from the end of the bind off....thank goodness for the russian join is all I'm saying...more on that later.

2 three-quarter length sleeves from this lone ball of yarn...
Almost....
can she do it....time will tell...

If you...

have never done Entrelac and wonder about the mystery on how those tiny squares and triangles occur. Well, the best way to see if you ever want to knit it more than once, may I suggest to you knit one of these!

It was fun! Easy to follow pattern and knit. Each time I did either a triangle or square and it came together, I did a tiny dance ;) I'll be helping to teach this to our Knitting Guild in the near future...er..which could be this Saturday!

Whomever invented this method...style...whatever you call it of knitting is just amazing.

Now yes, I know this is garter stitch and the project I want is knit in stockinette, but is was just the technique I wanted to learn. You know, see how it all happens. The pattern may be a bit different, I don't know, haven't read it yet. Not worried..um..er...yet anyways!

What started this 2 year pondering...wondering...quest....vision...

Back to SAFF 2007....When I (and Shannon too!) saw Oliviaknits Lady Eleanor Stole. Speaking for myself, I was in awe. I had never seen anything in person like that before and it looked lovely and warm and, well heck I loved it and thought, I could never do that.

Onward to SAFF 2008...In person I get to see, fondle, drool, pet, and wish she would forget it in my luggage, Shannon's fabulous Lady E! I was hooked, and it didn't help that Cristi had been working on hers too! (Which I saw recently in person!! Lovely as well!)

So what did I do shortly after returning home from SAFF 2008...er...
Noro Silk Garden
Get my own Noro Silk Garden in 221. I've seen it knit up and just love all the colors.

So...will there be a 2009 sighting of a Lady E at SAFF....who knows, but I'd sure like to!

YPF-The Lizard

Ridge that is!

A few of my friends have knit one, each in their own way.
A bouquet....
My Noro Bouquet

A colorway I'm liking...
I likey this color,

Love this colorway!
and this color

My first!!
and this color, the one that started it all, the one which will be my first colorway knitted, #51.
It was my very first skein of Noro purchased in 2005 at my first LYS I ever visited in NC. (only the 2nd one overall at the time :)

I like seeing all the different versions out there, heck some have even used crochet. As for me, I like the applied I cord here and the strip knitting method here. Both of which I'll be using.

I had probably random skeins in the stash already. I've been gifted a few (thanks again! :) , swapped for a few, got a few at a steal, and paid full price for very few! :) There was no method to my colors, I did get a few I liked, but the rest are basically a potluck. After color 51 I may just stick my hand in the bag and knit the very skein I pick up.

Since I plan on knitting this in strips, I'm thinking I'll just use up the entire skein and try to keep them about the same size....or not....who knows....stay tuned!
