YPF--Noro the Last!
Hey folks! Thanks for bearing with my Noro YPF posts, you're probably bored of them by now, but here is the last of my Noro!
Kureyon Colorway 51. This was a hard color to find for me. I've had this since way before I discovered blogs and other knitting forums, oh yeah, and had no stash to speak of. I fell in love with the colorway, but the place I had first ordered it from had it backordered like forever. As you can see, I found it! I have 3 skeins, originally destined for a Booga Bag, now not sure!
I do have 1 more colorway of Noro, but maybe soon you can see it...I'm such a tease! Work on Noro Mini-Clapotis to happen, and some socks, scarves, hats..um..busy, busy weekend!

T is for.....
Turkey! (ok, so I'm not too original here! ;)
Real, cooked turkey by my FIL
Real, cotton turkey knit by me! hehe! Gary the Gobbler, say hi to a distant cousin..verrry distant! ;)
A gag gift for my FIL..but guess who got to use it after dinner? Yep that would be right! Me! I was weaving in the ends as we drove in the yard!
T is also for turtleneck..well without the shirt LOL! A quick FO! Cherry Garcia from Hello Yarn! A very quick knit and a good cable practice as it's been a year since I've done any! I really love doing cables and you'll soon see in the future!
Patons Chunky Shetland Tweed--less than 1 skein! Used size 10.5 circs.
Hope you had a great day! :)

Success...
Is sweet! I conquered the lacey pattern and now have 2 soft, cute teeny hats for a tiny baby! Yeah, I'll never see them again, but that's ok, another technique to learn. My attention was much better after my mini-meltdown.
Remember this scarf?? Maybe now I can tackle that this weekend! Here's hoping my attention to detail (stitches) disorder will continue to stay away and I can finish a row without tinking..hmmm....Along with a ton of other things! Four days off (sadly on/call though). Hoping to stay home, warm and knit, and sew, sleep, and eat!!
How about you? Any plans? Hoping you all have a great rest of the week! :)

If at first you don't succeed....
Well, they say, try, try again!
Baby Hat from One-Skein for
The first one on the left went great, not a problem and this yarn...Knitpicks Shine Worsted in Crocus is the softest for it. Perfect! I just wished I had more of it for this project.
However..you're probably wanting to know where the succeeding part is....well see that HIP (hat in progress) on the right...yeah that one. Well, the lacey/patterned part of the hat is 12 rows, then you get the stockinette part. That particular hat was started at least 7 times. Yes folks 7 times. I would get to the 7th or so row and be off a few stitches (not sure if lace is going to be my forte, I just don't have the attention or something for it) So, me being the type A person that I am..well, I wasn't going to give up, no way, no how. It wasn't going to beat me.
There was even a meltdown earlier today....the last frog...or should I confess...it's cut into bits in the bin..yep, I was so frustrated and didn't want to use the multi-frogged yarn again, so I said a few choice words and cut the poor defenseless hat into bits. And I felt sooo much better. So much so, that you see the above picture...I didn't give up and let this win! I'm even going to start another one in the same pattern with some cotton ease stash. (shh did you hear LB is coming out with it again this fall!!)
It's for a good cause, I hope to have a few more done this weekend!
Oh and I got another FO...sorry, you gotta wait a few more days to see it though! SS KP!

ETA...yeah, I know I could have just done another pattern...but I need the lace/patterning experience..you see I wanna do a shawl after the new year so I have to learn to pay attention to detail :)

Noro Pr0n Friday the 3rd
Well, here is my favorite Noro of my stash. Yeppers, you've seen a glimpse before and by the end of the month, you'll see the FO..(s)? from it!
Silk Garden #87
Silk Garden #87
I just love the multi colors here! It goes with a lot of different outfits/coats/etc.!
Lovely fibers there! I got 4 skeins of this as part of a swap a year ago. I had never seen Silk Garden before and had only purchased my first Kureyon.
Next Friday is the last Noro one! Thanks for bearing with me. Then I can show you an FO or two..hehe..
BTW-Namaste knitting bag is totally fine now! Since I sopped up the mess right after it happened, not a lot seeped in and it isn't sticky or stiff and actually smells pretty good! hehe!
Sock Monkey bag-washed and about to hold Anastasia sock, which is finally dried enough to knit on!
Happy Friday Everyone!

I got this from Jen's blog!
I'm a Mainer...a'yuh...that's right. ;) Although living in NC for 16 yrs kind of has my accent a bit mixed up. I still pronounce most words as I have always done....but now, um..er..they have a bit of twang in them. Howevah! Get me around some New Englanders, and it reverts back.
On the knitting front...DD put a nice closed soda in my knitting bag, yes, my corduroy Namaste bag. It was supposed to be upright,(and closed!) well, while knitting at skate nite, my butt felt wet....hmmm...ok whose kid spilled something?? Well, um..open my bag and most of the soda was at the bottom. Poor, Poor Anastasia sock, she's been rinsed and is drying, chart holder is ok, spare yarn is ok, sock monkey bag is sopping wet and in the wash. Geesh, good thing it was Root Beer! Working on teeny, tiny hats and SS Project! See ya on Friday!

What American accent do you have? Your Result: North Central "North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot. | |

:) I'm baaaaack!!
Hello there!! The retreat was nice and relaxing, wayyyy too short though!
Sewing news: Got the quilt done except for handsewing the binding (yahoo!!) That'll get done sometime next week as I have another quilt to handsew before this. I was literally sewing about 5 minutes before I had to pack up to leave. It took me the whole time to machine quilt it. Many, many color changes and um..a few repeated stitching due to unsewing..heh a familiar term for me (shhh can you say frogging or tinking! ;)
We took a break to go to Myrtle Beach to see the Dixie Stampede Christmas Show. Very interesting food, show, and people! Then to a quilt store for a bit of fabric and some buttons perfect for my quilt. I was on the lookout for an LYS, but didn't find one, and not a lot of time to do so as we really wanted to get back to sew.
Knitting news: HA! Like I told you I so overpacked! I only worked on one project (super secret one) and it had to be f---g-d!! Yeppers....a big boo boo that I tell ya about later this week!
So I am off to catch up on a bit of mail and knit!
Thanks everyone for your ideas on the Silk Garden and still getting a few on the Kureyon too!
Sorry no pics, and you'll have to wait for the unveiling of the quilt on Thanksgiving Day! :)

Noro Pr0n Friday the 2nd!
Noro Silk Garden #217
I like all the colors, the way the look together in the skein.
Pretty soft, well softer then Kureyon! Lovely colors and I'll be interested to see what it looks like knitted.
The purple looks almost bluish as it gets closer to the brown. Hmm ideas for 3 skeins of this? There's a bag in One-skein a lot of peeps have made and it's less than one skein (go figure!) or a few caps (but seriously, down here, not too much wear) so what to do.....
Happy Friday everyone! See ya Sunday! :)
It seems as I am packing to go..um..I'm about 1 for 1.....1 quilt project=1 knitting project...and so on...(have 3 totes just for knitting stuff!) Yes I am a serious overpacker, but it can sit in the car until I need it. ;) (not like when I am flying and paying $$ for overweight baggage!)
Don't want to run out of stuff to do! ;)

The Thursday Blahsssssss
I need Friday to be here!! Super secret knitting project is partially blocking, and I'm working on a certain "??" island...I have pics but can't show you yet...sorry!
Yarn arrived yesterday...but not for me...so no pics either as they need to go to their respective homes.
I wanna knit on my sock and start swatching for a cardigan and a vest...I think I'll do that this weekend as I am going to a quilt retreat at the beach for about 2 days. Not an "official" retreat as in classes, just a place for a small group of women to get together and sew/quilt and me..well I'm going to start on 2 christmas projects for my daughter that'll be undercover secret knitting and I think only 1 pair of ankle socks for my MIL...that's all I am knitting for knitmas this year... and oh yeah, I have a few..actually quite a few WIP's in quilting. My top priority is my Christmas Quilt that has been waiting to be quilted for 2 years and a Christmas wall hanging too!!! I threw a couple of other things in the tote and we'll see what gets done.
Sigh...Hopefully it will be nice to get my YPF pics....oh yeah..I got them already ;) Tune in tomorrow!!

Friends, goodies, and success!
What more could a girl want! As you can see below and in case you visited Turtlegirl's blog today Deb (Yarner), Me, and Turtlegirl! I was so glad that while Deb was here, we could get together (she was my SP6 Pal, and trained me well! ;)! Even better was that Cristi could come too! After a lunch and like who know how many cups o'coffee, we sat and knit and chatted and annoyed many of the B&N customers...one even took our pictures so we'd be done with the flash as it was disturbing his reading. I guess others thought we were a bit noisy..um..like duh...if you want a quiet place to read, this place isn't the place to go to!! But, we didn't care, we chatted and knitted and ignored them all anyways! Deb showed us knitting backwards...hmm now for upside down knitting ;)
What's really funny is..well..Deb drinks decaf..but look at them eyes! hehe!
So fast forward to today. Headache/sinus pain from heck...couldn't wait to get to the drugstore for my fix of sudafed. Urgh..let's not get started on the fact that I live in a state where I have to show my license and sign a form for it...grrrrr.
When I got home, tired and cranky I found a box in my mail from the UK!! Inside are the contents of my 1-yd fabric swap from Iris in the UK! Inside were vintage fabric (white with flowers!), retro fabric (brown/flowers) and fat quarters of my favorite Amy Butler prints (bet she didn't know that either! ;) tiny sewing repair kit (going in the car), chocolate, and sock yarn from Curious Fibers(yay!) I just love getting sock yarns from different hand-dyers! The card is beautiful too! She was the organizer of the swap and if that wasn't enough, she just had a baby 1 month ago!!! Thank you! I love it all!
Success...well as you can see for yourself below...it is a short row heel folks!! I may have knit it, but I so could not have done it without Cristi's patience!!! She is a great teacher, especially to an easily confused person such as myself! Thanks to her, I understand short row toes and heels!
I wasn't sure I would like how it fit, so far it's ok, will let you know once they're done and worn!

Noro Pr0n Friday
Ok, so since it it Norovember, I thought I would post my Noro stash each friday.
These two skeins of Noro Big Kureyon were my first purchase of any Noro yarns. 1 year ago on our vacation to the NC Mountains I had about 20 minutes in a LYS in Black Mountain...lucky me all Noro was 35% off. I got this #19 colorway and 3 other skeins that I've since swapped. Not sure what I'll make with it....ideas??
Interesting how they swirl/spin all those colors in there!
This is a close up of both skeins, smack dab in the middle.
Ok, so I promise not to NORO you to death this month. Just on YPF's or if I get an FO...tune in and see! ;) Believe it or not, I don't have a large amount of it. Why?? not sure but have only just started using it. Pssst.....but don't tell the Lamb's Pride yarns--they'll get jealous as they are ...um..er..being taken over by Cascade 220 (since I can get most colors locally now!) and I think they are feeling quite neglected! ;)

Welcome to Norovember
Yep folks, I joined another KAL, one to help me complete things! We all know I sometimes need help!
My Mini Clapotis in Silk Garden No. 87! I should have enough to make a cap too! This is the first set of increases done so far....started about 8 months or more ago. So that is my goal for this month. Stay tuned for more Noro
